Creasepoint Cloud

It does not exist yet. There is no beta, no waiting list and nothing to sign up for. This page exists so that the sentence on the front page — "we also make a separate cloud product under the same name" — points somewhere honest rather than nowhere.

Why say anything at all

One brand over a local product and a cloud product is an ordinary shape. It becomes dishonest at exactly one point: when the local product's page reads as though the cloud product does not exist, and somebody else finds it first.

So it is said on the front page, before the feature list, and it will keep being said after the cloud product ships. The alternative is a privacy claim that quietly stops being true on a date we choose and do not announce.

What it will and will not be

It will be a different product. A separate codebase, a separate repository, a separate privacy policy. If you use it, you are uploading your documents on purpose, and the terms of that will be written where you can read them before you decide.

It will have a free plan and a paid one. A cloud product has a real per-user cost — servers, storage, bandwidth — and somebody has to pay it. That is what a subscription is for. The desktop application does not have that cost, which is why it is free and will stay free.

It will not become part of the desktop application. No "sign in" control, no "send to the cloud" button, no account. That is not a promise about our intentions; it is a rule the build enforces. A test reads every compiled assembly and fails the build if our code refers to a networking type, and adding the cloud to the desktop product would mean deleting that test in a commit somebody could find.

We are saying that plainly because the pressure to blur the two will come from inside, and it will be framed reasonably. The record of what was decided and why is public and append-only — an entry is superseded, never edited, so a claim that quietly weakened leaves both versions behind.

Until then

The desktop application is finished, free, and does not need the cloud product to exist. That was the point.
